how fast do you drive?!

if you're not driving normally at speeds over 100mph i would say it would be worthless. and even then i don't think it would be worth it.

They work wonders on aircraft, but I can't see a Cobalt going fast enough to benefit from them.

They work...but not too well on a Cobalt...or most cars for that matter.

Stick em' on a plane, and the story is quite a bit different.

Maybe if your cruising along at 150 knots....
The ones on the aircraft are used to prevent boundery layer seperation from the top of the wing. The aircraft ones do not reduce drag as they state above. Preventing, or delaying boundery layer seperation of the air over the top of the wing allows the wing to achieve greater angle of attacks and delays the stall point...

So unless your doing wheelies in your car at over 100 mph they wont do a damn thing for you.

Pointless for a car. Unless you like the look of them.

On an aircraft, to put it simply they allow you to fly slower.

they serve a purpose, believe it or not. but. on evos, they have an aerodynamic deficiency that is "patched" by the vortex generators. your car would have to be designed by retarded monkeys (like the fine folks at mitsubishi motors) to need them. cobalts and ions are quite aerodynamically efficient from the word go, so they should make no difference on our cars.

also, not every car will benefit from them being put where the evo's are. they may need to be a little more forward, or somewhere on the rear glass to make a difference. the only way to tell is simulated or real wind tunnels, or lots of trial and error.

I have had a little physics.

In the picture on Ebay they show increased velocity at the spoiler.

How in the **** do you get increased speed by spinning air? Seems like it would only cause drag. or move the air side to side
