06 model door trim

I was at the dealer today and I noticed all of the 06 base models ditched the two bumper strips along the doors and now look more like the ss models that dont have the strips. imo it looks way better and I may rip mine off of my ls. Any thoughts.

Also while picking up my car from the service dept, (again) my aunt fell in love with a sunburst base model coupe, well now there are two coupes in my driveway since we split a duplex. They look awesome together, its like holloween, black and orange... and hers looks all happy while my car just looks mean with the 18s, tints and blacked out headlights... I will try to get picks of them together.

I would have posted pics today but we got nailed with some crazy storms tonight. The dealership got hit with lightening and she only signed enough papers to drive away with dealer plates. AND she signed those in the dark with headlights from the showroom... Crazy but she had to get everything done for gm discount. She got a killer deal.

The best part is I saw the lightening strike, coolest thing I have ever seen. I was only 50 yards away, it was incredible.

alright long post, but a long day....... Let me know what u all think about door trim and removal. Thanks

One of the reason I went with the Non-SS was due to the bumper guards on the doors...parking in an apartment parking lot I figured it was a good idea to have them since people tend to be careless when they pull their rust bucket in and let their kids rip open the doors.

oh, the body side moldings? I know the 2.4 ss coupe dont have those too. I heard you could use floss to cut through the glue.
lightning is an awsome thing. ever see sheet lightning?

Wow, that’s Is a bad reason for not getting the SS. You can always put those site moldings on the SS for $50 or so…..

But any car looks way cleaner without them.

-To take them off when its really hot outside. Use a blow-dryer to heat them up more and just and pull with your fingers. They come right off.

even the base models dont have them for 06. Every 06 on the lot had doors like the ss. I guess gm just thought it looked better so why not save a few more bucks.

I saw about 20 LT coupes on a rental lot today and they all had the moulding.

All I found were base coupes at the dealer I was at, they were all 06 ls's and that is confusing as hell when walking through a group of 05s and 06's. Anyway all of the 06's they had, had no mouldings on the doors just like the SS.
