06 SS Grille installed on SS/SC

Well after seeing the picture of the 06 SS N/A posted I had to have the grille. Due to the fact that 2006 models aren't uploaded in GM's system yet I called the dealer that had the car and a very nice salesman gave me the VIN #.

I just got it yesterday and installed it within minutes. GM shouls have installed this on all SS Coablts.

There is no increase in temps in at all. Which wasn't a worry anyway, the air off the lower air dam is more than enough. GM just wanted everyone to think this car had a visible intercooler.

I will post pics asap in my gallery.

That grill looks gay. It looks so much better left open.

The pictures are in my Cobalt member gallery.

The part number is 15773841 and is called a Cover Assembly Lower Front and my cost was $46.02 list is $60.00 though. A Cobalt LS grille is $18.00 so judging by the price difference for 4" more GM knows 2005 owners will be buying these.

I personally like this grille and wouldn't even think of using the aftermarket ones. This grille matches the upper grille and snaps in and out in minutes. Not to mention even if air flow was a factor this one allows more than the aftermarket ones.

agreed, not feeling it! my thoughts are if they wanted to have it grilled they would have done it, seems that there might not be a temp in the cooling system but what about the IC system....?

If the air moving through that grille isn't enough for the intercooler then they need to turn the boost down.

A grille like this may alter total air flow by maybe 2%

i think the silver mesh will fit the red cars nicely. the n/a grille looks to have different sized bars than the one that is above it. i think it contrasts too much.

Plastic the same color and texture as the grille above.

And you want the lower grille to have larger openings, the smaller aftermarket ones are blocking alot of air.
