07 cobalt Xm Radio

Does everyone with the 2LT package and up have XM equipped? I bought my 2LT coupe in August and when I hit the band button 3 times, it goes back to FM radio. I want to try out XM, and I thought our radios had it....

i have the xm option in my car, from my understanding its a 3 month trial period after which you gotta pay :S And yes it works for me. Tried many stations, but somehow i keep defaulting to my local FM stations

If your radio does have XM installed in it, you should be able to still get an XM band. There would be some FREE XM preview channels that you would still be getting such as channel 1. If you don't get an XM band at all then you probably don't have XM at all.

do you have an XM antenna on the roof of your car? If not, you don't have XM radio. . .it's that simple.

Just get an aftermarket head unit with XM. You will need a tuner which I think, comes with the antenna. The store you buy it at should be able to install it as well. You will like this much better than simply adding on external XM radio.

I have had XM for almost three years and have never gone back or even missed regular commercial radio. You will hear songs that regular radio doesn't have the guts to play.

Good luck with that free install LOL XM is an option... if you don't get it in your options package your car won't have the hardware.. Just like the sunroof.. if you don't buy it with the sunroof its not installed
