Car and Driver just ended their one year long-term test of an Eclipse GT in the May issue:

0-to-60 mph in 6.1 seconds and 14.6 seconds at 98 mph in the quarter when new; 5.9 to 60 and 14.2 at 101 with 40,846 miles on the clock. Zero to 130 mph: 29.3 sec

for Cobalt SS 2.4: 0–60 mph: 7.1 sec, Standing ź-mile: 15.7 sec @ 91 mph, Zero to 120 mph: 37.0 sec

- so the Eclipse GT hits 130 8 seconds before the SS 2.4 hits 120 - I'd say it would be hard to pull on one if he was trying hard...

For the Eclipse GS with 4 cylinder, Zero to 60 mph: 8.2 sec, 1/4-mile: 16.2 sec @ 85 mph so that's no match for a 2.4 - it's barely faster than a Cobalt LS 4 door auto (0-60 in 8.4 and 1/4 in 16.6) so a manual is probably right in there...

Being a DSM fan myself I had to check out this thread. Not really trying to post on the current discussion because well they are 14 - 14.5 second cars driven a stock one myself at Ennis and could only clock a 14.4 best. Any ways NJHK WTF was Mitsu thinking when they made the previous gen GT's think th year span was like 2000 - 2004 maybe? IDK. anyways a few months back when I was racing one he was talkign all kinds of **** about how he had full bolt ons and would race any na 4cyl out there. i was like Hey I got a full bolt on Na 4cyl so we raced. By the top of second gear I was already 1 1/2 cars on him and walking away. And afterwards he came up saying something about how was it possible for me to pull him. Was funny cause my other buddies all drive mitsus and were like you know thats the biggest turd Mitsu ever made. hahahaha
