07's with clutch problems please read!!
I found a TSB that mentions some problems with certain 07 balts. Details below:
Subject: Hard To Shift And Or Slipping Clutch - keywords flywheel manual slip transmission #PIP3980 - (11/09/2006)
Models: 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt
2007 Chevrolet HHR
2007 Pontiac G5
2007 Pontiac Solstice
2007 Saturn ION
2007 Saturn Sky
2007 Saturn VUE
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Certain customers may comment about clutch slipping or difficulty shifting the manual transmissions on affected vehicles. It has come to our attention that flywheels from a new vendor, Benda, were mismachined during production
Recommendation/Instructions:
Affected vehicles are as follows:
2007 Pontiac Solstice (GMX020 with LE5 & MA5)
2007 Saturn Sky (GMX023 with LE5 & MA5)
2007 Saturn VUE (GMT315 with L61 and MG3)
2007 Saturn ION (GMX357 with L61, LE5 and M86)
2007 Chevrolet Cobalt (GMX001 with L61, LE5 and M86)
2007 Chevrolet HHR (GMT001 with L61, LE5 and M86)
2007 Pontiac G5 (GMX001 with L61, LE5 and M86)
This would include only those vehicles built between August 15 and October 13, 2006. The plants have corrected the problem by insuring that they are now using certified reworked stock. GMSPO stock was not affected as they had only stock supplied by the former vendor Jonathan Hay.
Operation of a vehicle with a mismachined flywheel could result in premature clutch failure and a customer complaint. If a suspect vehicle fails in the field the recommendation is to replace the clutch kit and the flywheel as well.
Figure 1 is the effected Benda flywheel and Figure 2 is the Jonathan Hay flywheel
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

Look again!!!
Hey man,
Just going through this thread and if you didn't read it before, it lists the cars that are effected. Cobalts with all motors are effected, including our motor. I was just on the phone with my dealer today and told him for the last 2 weeks or so I can smell my clutch and it slips when i shift fast( NOT POWER SHIFTING). Then I look at this. U should keep an eye on things anyway. I know there is something wrong with mine and I only have 5000KM.

i have a 06 and i having to replace the clutch the second time first one went out at 10,500 miles ....dealer wont replace $1500.00 for them to fix it ......2nd clutch is now going out at 20,000 miles .....dealer wont replace.......going to buy a spec 3 clutch this time so it doesnt happen again ......this not due to driving ......i thought the that was the reason the time but i was told that the clutch is underrated for the cars and is not designed to handle ......

My 2.4 was built in mid sept. When at a dead stop sometimes it feels like I'm forcing it to get into first. Could this be a symptom? I've seen other people say the same thing on here but it's even stated in the manual that this may happen and we should let off the clutch and try again. Doesn't seem to happen as much now with 8k on it. All other gears are fine and no slippage.
Also what is GMSPO stock? Spare parts stock?
