10.5 Psi And Gm Says Thats Alright

Angry 10.5 Psi And Gm Says Thats Alright

WHAT THE ****!?!?!?!? i only make 10.5 MAXXXXX psi, and gm says that thats perfectly fine for my car and dont want to fix it.
WHAT THE **** DO I DO??? this is the 2nd dealership that i took it to for this problem AND THEY WONT COVER MY DEFECTIVE ROTORS!!!!!

ok so i failed to mention a few things: 1st of all, i have about 17,350 miles on my 06. maintained to perfection. i have had 12.5 psi since i bought the car and it slowly began to diminish from there after. im in albany now, but when i was in long island which is where i live i had the problem for over 2 months.
i spoke to a woman by the name of Lisa Watson who is the corporate advisor for the CEO Mr.Wagner of GM. she repeated numerous times that "there is absolutely nothing wrong with your car, it is perfect" shes an idiot so i dont want to get too much into that issue (but i just cant resist). a different rep told me that one of my rights as an owner is....if i take the car in to 2 different dealerships for the same problem and i am still not satisfied, they will send out a field representative to take a look at the car. today i was adviced by Ms. Watson that "GM's final decision on my car, is that they will not be sending out a field rep since there is nothing wrong with my car, and the brakes will not be covered, instead they will be machined down AGAIN." she said this like 10 times, so i said....i understand what you're saying and i heard u the first time, the second, the 3rd, the 4th, the 5th, AND the 6TH!!! you dont need to keep repeating yourself. she then said "i am terminating this call" and hung up on me. i may have been a smart ass, but she deserved it and i was not being disrespectful other than that remark....they dont want to even acknowledge that there is ANY issue. AND I WANT MY ******* FIELD REP TO COME TAKE A LOOK. i was thinking about suing them for not fulfilling my warranty, or breach of warranty. maybe fox five problem solvers can help.

my babies been in the shop forever, and no she has no brakes....but i ordered some check my other posts n lme know what u think of them

have them calibrate your guage, or you can try racing a SS that says their getting 12.5 and see if its close or go get it dynoed.

1- Turn the key on but don't start the engine.
2- Check to see where your boost gauge is at.

If it isn't at - 0 - it's your gauge, I had the same issue.

i had the same thing happen to me i have a 06 ss s/c with 3000 miles on it and was geting backfiring from 1-2 shifts and only reading 10.5 -11q psi they said everythingw was normal. i was like WTF?? loooks like i have to go to another dealership...

Like mentioned before, it could vary on your elevation. Higher elevations will show lower boost level because of the thinner air.

I don't think the dealership would fix something like that when u say it's suppose to make more boost... i was hitting around 11psi when i was stock.. now i'm hitting 20-21 psi but i have the 2.7" pulley on now which is good for 17-18 psi

there i NO way that you can hit that kind of pressure with a 2.7"

I only got 17-18 with my 2.6, and now about 90-20 with my 2.5.

Your cat converter is fried. Replace it, it's robbing power regardless of the 'boost' it gives you/


And on topic:

10.5 is pretty good, lol, quit your botching. there are TONS of things that effect boost, like elevation, temperature, humidity. It's probably fine, what makes you think it's the rotors????

I hit 21 with a 2.6 before my exhaust and that was rwith reading it with hp tuners.

well, the fact that HPtuners dosn't messure boost, but ABSOLUTE manifold pressure )and usually inkPa at that) kinda put's a damper on that statement.

You have to make a cutom PID and take absolute - barometric to get 'boost' out of HPT.
But even then, you are looking at imperial units, which are not as accurate as metric in HPT, as it is just a conversion.

ok on my aeroforce now with my exhaust I hit 20.5 ... but there is a way to calculate boost pressure... we converted to PSI and I think you subtract 13.75 (not sure don't rember) but I was at 35.54 absolute pressure... converted to 21.xx but that was before I did the t3" full exhaust.

you subtract 14.7 (which is baro pressure at sea level ONLY and only an average then) But again, HPT has some roudning errors when converting from kPa to PSI. They state this themselves that it is much more accurate to use metric when tuning.

I am cusrious how you can get 21 from a 2.6, when that is what the guys with 2.5s are getting.

dunno... but thats what I was getting with a 3" d.p. with highflow cat... with stock catback.. now with a 3" side pipe with flow through muffler I'm down to 20.5 and thats what my aeroforce reads. If you look up some of my other posts I have some Hp screenshots up... that 35.54 was a peak though for a few seconds, mostly stayed at 34.45-34.65 absolute pressure.

I'm not doubting you, just wondering why. same blower, same pulley, same rpm = same pressure (or there arounds). ONLY hing I can think of is a restriction in your head (engine, not skull )

Boost is not always a good thing, it is an indication of poor flow at times, and flow is all that really matters.

I know thats why I'm ordering the gm cnc ported head or the patriot performance if I get a good deal... CFM is what makes the power. on my monte I picked up 60 whp just by doin a port job... ( I was running a big cam and valves 2.02/1.60 w/ a 507/510 lift cam)

I could see how he is getting about 21 cus with just my setup I am putting out about ~16. I would think that a 2.8 would give another couple pounds as would a 2.6 if I didnt get a header downpipe upgrade ... if I got header downpipe and had a 2.6 this is only a guess but with the higher flow I would think ~18psi is what you would see.

I just thought of something. Check and possibly adjust the vacuum canister to make sure your bypass valve is closing all the way.
