1100 ss sc on hold

the sales manager at the dealer that im getting my car from got a call from the vp of gm today and he told her that the reason why all the cars are on hold is for the sunroof fit and finish and for a bolt in the one of the doors they cant get. 600 cars are being held for the sunroof and 500 for the sunroof and the bolt. All this waiting for a stupid bolt they could probably go to the local hardware store and get.

At least there will be 1100 happy SS owners once that hold is off and they get everything fixed. That would be greeeaaat...

That hold sucks, but hey, let's at least be happy to know there were 1100 SS/SC's even built!! That's an accomplishment for GM at this point! That's a change from the handful trickel they had been building an delivering thus far. Maybe all the pre-orders will finally be forfilled. Maybe some of those are going to dealers and will actually have a G85 package.

If they get all the pre-orders out of the way, it will mean good news as far as waiting time for anyone who orders new after that.

All Cobalts?

Are you sure this is SS/SC only? I believe the sunroof is the same for all cobalts and the door wouldn't be any differant. My understanding was that all sunroofs were on hold.
The reason I question this is that I was told by a manager at the Lordstown plant that at the end of march there were only 469 SS/SC's on order. I guess it is possible that another 500 cars were ordered in 1 more month but I dought it. Can anyone clearify this?

The cars arriving at dealers now were built before the hold. There were apparently quite a few sitting at the plant for about a month, due to a previous hold

i don't think thats true... my car was built on 4/6, and put on hold, while my dealer just got in 2 more SS/SC's, 1 was built on 4/26, and the other this month... and mine is still waiting for "quality control"... its not the sunroof, as both have it...

If yours was built sooner that would make sense becuase that means they built the newer ones fine but they have to still fix yours.

Mine was built the week of 3/21, didn't arrive til this past Wednesday. There were a bunch sitting at the plant to have sunroofs checked and possibly fixed.

I believe the original hold was on all sunroofs and I agree with pygmysurfer as all the dealers where I live now have SS/CC's.
