it's not that hard to get a cobalt into the 12's. most people just aren't willing to do the work and spend the money. with the traps that cobalts are putting down, with good traction 12's are not far away. people will add power mod after power mod, but then they won't do things like axles, slicks, mounts, etc. don't let the people dismay you, 12's are possible and reliable. there's plenty of people here trapping 107-108 all day long. with traction and a great 60 that's 12's. but, they'll bitch and bitch about how they can't get better times. i wonder why?
as far as im concerned there are way to many cobalts out there with to many power mods, and no idea how to really use them.
look at some of these times from my local srt fellas.
keep in mind this is at 3000ft altitude

notice anything?
because they get mounts, and slicks, and learn how to drive on the 1/4 mile
they have wheelhop and spin issues just like we do trust me.
but as you can see, alot of the traps people are running around here are good for ALOT better times than we are getting.

As have I.
I run 13.8 ET at 99 mph in my '71 Camaro, and that's babying it for traction so I can pull 2.00 second 60 footers.
Numerous calculators say I have ~275 HP at the rear wheels with a total weight of 3,600 with me in the car (I weigh 250 lbs.)
My rear gears are killing me though. I cross the finish line at ~4,400-4500 RPM with my 3.42 rear end.

to be honest, and this may sound harsh, but considering what we see most people run, youll probably barely sneak into the 13s on street tires.
