1st time at track
First time i ever went to the track. my best time was a 13.8 at 102. my 60's were 2.29
The bad thing is now there's a weird sound coming from the front or somethings loose or possibly cracked. I don't know if i'm paranoid but it doesn't sound the same

Wheel hop over time can cause premature wear of joints and bearings. With serious wheel hop, the torsional forces can actually crack drive shafts and differential casings. As soon as you experience wheel hop lay off the throttle as damage can result quickly and it usually gets more violent as you lay in to the gas more.
How to fix this is the hard part as depending on how much power your car has, suspension modifications, tires, all the way to transmission and engine mount types can effect this. We could probably start up an entire sticky tread on solving wheel hop.
I actually just found this very informative page about wheel hop, definitely worth the read:

Drag strips also require less time and are more readily available. All the track events I have done require a long drive, a hotel room for a night or two and a fair amount of cash... heh... Drag strip requires a Saturday evening, $20 and gas money

Unlucky for you that you don't live near a road course. However a lot of auto-cross events take place in very large parking lots. I doubt that'd be a long drive.
If I was a member of SCCA it'd have been $20.
In drag racing it's about a really hard launch, banging gears etc.. (it's not exactly 'easy' on the cars.
The main difference is in road-course racing is you wear out all 4 tires...instead of just 2.

The auto-cross I just did, required $40 and a Sunday...

Though, the auto-crosses just aren't no where near as fun as getting out on a road course for a day... But for the convenience and money, that's definitely an advantage.
They actually just opened up two road courses near me:

My Cobalt only has 400 miles on her so far (just over a week old) so I won't be racing till next year. Missed out this season entirely because I lost my old car that I used to race back in December
