2.2 liter SS

Ok since Gm decided to put a SS Badge on a 2.4 Automatic dont you think I have a right to do the same if I am producing more then 171HP? with my 2.2 ? It still angers me how gm did that because in june of 05 I got my LS cus I diddent know how to drive Stick and the 2.4 auto ss wasent out yet. Wich leaves me to say My interior is fully stock like a ss with leather and the whole 9 yards... With that said do you think I have the right to make my car an ss?

oh yeah if i was to do that I would slap on the 17's from the ss /na

#1 you can't put the 17's on (5lug vs 4) this has been gone over already!

#2,m the SS's have a much diff suspension setup then the 2.2's

#3, the front and rear bumpers seem to look a lil better.

So, no, i don't think there is a sound reason to do so.

rs, yea, that would be good, not SS (Not bashing either, I loover the car in general, but the "SS" name, as little as there is left, dose have some pride)

If you have to you have to. I wouldn't though. To me that's pretty close to sticking a i-vtec sticker on it. I personally would never do it. If anything I would play up the LS part. There's a lot to be said for sleepers.

front and rear bumpers look a LOT better.

You forgot a couple others:

#4 You don't have 4 wheel discs

#5 You don't have the same exhaust system

#6 if you want to get technical, you don't have coil-on plugs, oil coolers, VVT, and all that fun gadgetry.

Wait it out, buy a body kit and turbo or supercharge that sumbitch once there's a kit available. Quit worrying so much about what other people think because someone is ALWAYS going to have something better or faster. ALWAYS. It's the nature of the food chain.

PS - Badges were meant to be taken off not put on cars they didn't come on

Should have been more patient. I didn't want the stick, leather, and 18s that came stock on the SS/SC in 05 and was delighted that the 06 offered an SS with automatic, cloth seats, 4-wheel disks, etc. If they didn't offer this car I would have just gotten an LT with sport package I guess, but would have felt inferior to the 4-wheel disk cars, etc.

By the way, are you going to change wheel bearings/hubs to mount the 17s on your car?

And man, U think U have it bad?? I drive around and down the shore and have every one look down upon me cuz I drive "One of thos Cavaliers" I would LOVE to have even the 2.2L Balt. I donno, just look at the bright side.

Cobalt = Sum what respected car

Cavalier = top 10 most disrespected cars or all time

I think that the 2.0L sc is the only one that deserves the badge. Its been discussed many a times i know. I have an LS and wouldnt put an SS badge on it even if i was making as much power as the 2.4. I get tire of people slamming the SS, thinking its the SC and its the 2.4 because of the badge. So i say no i dont think you should do it.

a car is what it is. the SS is a package, it's not just a badge. if you were as fast as a corvette, it's still not a corvette. if you want the look, get the bumpers, have them painted and put on. i assume you've already got the spoiler.

i'm happy with my 2.4.

what have you done to make as much power? i havn't seen one dyno chart that with out NO^2 where a 2.2 was putting down what a 2.4 was.

Wow, um, I'm gonna ask a question of the other posters in this thread before I do what I want to do...

For those that know my car, should I let this guy have it, or should I just let it slide?

so does that mean if u put "SS" badges on your car that you would be happier with it?

But if you went Supercharged and upgraded the suspension are you good for the ss badge? Cause based on some posts further up that is the base Requirements for a SS. Im not going to, Im just using the supercharged badge.

these are the mods he has listed:

Mods --- 20% Tint / Debaged rear Logo / Removed Door strips Intake

so the intake, which is the only performance mod there, adds how much power? cause i mean damn, if you're putting down more than 171 with just an intake, i want to know where you got your tint!!
