2.4 2.2 you may be interested AEM

So here it is I just got a call from AEM so tomorrow I'm going to go get my intake for my 2.4 (specific) so finally there is hopefully an intake for our 2.4s' Also they called me back and need a 2005 2.2 I think they are doing some modifications on the intake. If you live in So.Cal and are interested e-mail kying@aempower.com I could go into detail because I was on my way out the door to go to work. The reason I' getting my intake tomorrow is because it was used for R&D and I guess I'll be the first to have one from them

Should be but isn't take believe me it's not. My car has been at AEM and it was throwing codes the intake is for the 2.4 if you look around there is no company selling a 2.4 specific intake for these cars. If you've looked in other posts people have called companies direct and their answer so far has been NO we don't have an intake for the 2.4 some vendors are selling the intakes as being able to fit the 2.2/ 2.4 which isn't true. Also my car was recently at K&N and usually they need a car for about 4 to 5 days. and they needed it for 2 weeks and the answer I was getting from both companies is we had to do our work on this one in other words the intake is different bottom line

what do you mean it's not true? what's different about an intake for the 2.2 and the 2.4? should be the same thing... fitment should not be a problem...

All I'm saying is that it has more of a chance throwing a cel also what does the vvt do while you drive? Advances timing right so alot of things go along with that af mixtures and so there will be leaning out etc., computer is suppose to pick it up and adjust accordingly. also there are alot of people throwing these cels and hopefully this intake will help out. Also I understand there are some that are not throwing anything. I'm just putting this out for people to see and if anyone that isn't throwing a cel your lucky. I don't want this to be a pissin match my intake never threw a code or what ever. Again I don't think that two companies are full of **** when I talk to them. I don't think they would waste their time and money if there isn't any difference

I don't either but for alot of the 2.4 it'ss a problem making them run way to lean. I had a 2.2 intake on my 2.2 which I still have and the opportunity came for my car to be used in R&D. I will ask the specifics when I go there tomorrow. Believe this I will check out my new intake compared to the old and see if I can see any changes. But anyway if there is a specific intake number would you think people will still buy the 2.2 intake saying their the same. I have a 2.4 auto and just would rather have what is made for the car instead of hoping that when I spent 200+ dollars I wouldn't have any problems..

OK First of all I got my car back and Yes it does have the New AEM intake made for the 2.4. The design I definately different it's a one piece unit fittment is clean I had to get to work so no pic'c until later but it's clean. also I did notice a difference and w/auto. Also I asked what the big deal with making the intake was compared to the 2.2 and why was it causing the cel to come on and the Key word was engine management. it was a hit or miss if the car would or wouldn't throw a cel. So far so good .I don't know when this will be on the market, but hopefully soon
