I just brought my 2006 ss coupe home and for some reason it has black guages. I thought the ss had white guages. its cool by me, cuz I dont really like white guages, Im just wondering if anyone else has black guages in their 2.4 ss or if mines a fluke.thanks

 

You might want to look into this... I was almost 100% sure all 2.4L SS Cobalts had white gauges. Recently, when I was looking at an SS/SC at a local dealer, they had swapped the leather seats for leather seats from a 2.4L SS (no SS stitching). They wouldn't have told me if I hadn't asked.

You may want to go back to the dealer and get that sorted out. How high does the speedometer go up to? Normal 2.4L gauges go to 140mph. SS/SC gauges go to 160mph.

 

Yeah, my 2.4 SS has white gauges that go up to 140. I would check into that.

 

Are you from Canada? I think the canuks get black and the US folks get white gauges.

ive seen 2.2 cobalts and pursuits with white here in good ol canada ontario.
the gf's parents have a 4 door pursuit loaded and its got the white face gauges.

 

All of the SS's I have seen in Canada have black gauges. The S/C just has a different font.

 

Canadian with black gaues here, dammit I hate them. Can't wait to swap them out for some black cats.

Or I guess I could try and wait for someone with a Pontiac to smack theirs up and attempt a cluster swap... I know a guy who goes wrecker shopping every couple weekends. Does your cluster say "Pontiac", "Pursuit" or "GT" on it anywhere on the gauge faces?

 

yes i am from Canada, so do the ss/sc have just plain black guages in canada too? its kind of wierd theyd all have black guages in canada, but im not complainin, cuz i dont like white guages
