2.4 sedan vs 2.2 coupe

So this is a pretty simple thread, I just want to know your thoughts. Would you rather have a 2.4l sedan more power but slightly heaver (about 100 pounds) or a 2.2l coupe with less power and less weight? I'm just curious as to what you guys say.

I'd take the 2.4 if it was during the years that it had the forged internals and the 2.2 if it's not in those years. Also are we talking the L61 or LAP 2.2?

The LAP has VVT which previously only the LE5 had, it's the same head that 09-10 2.2's have (which mine is an 09 and going to be boosted in the near future). Wish it had the forged internals though so it could handle 300 WHP instead of only 250 at most.

Between a stock 2.4 and a stock 2.2 (L61 or LAP), I'm going to say the 2.4

When did forged internal affect the power output of an engine?

It affects how much power it can hold which would affect eventually wanting to boost the engine.

The 2.2 because it's a coupe vs the sedan which I personally prefer.

It's a 2 hp difference but the same torque. 171 vs 173 hp and then 163 lb-ft for both

The difference (in a 1/4 mile race) is gonna be less than half a second. So if you do a real race don't expect to blow the doors off each other.

I got back and forth with them. I like the convenience of a sedan but coupes look more appealing to me.

I like it for the convenience too, and I like more the rear bumper of the 2.4 sedan, how it covers better the exhaust

I'm talking a dead stock 2.4 sedan and a dead stock 2.2 coupe. Race 10 times it could be a 5-5 split.
