2.4L 06 Balt vs V-6 04 Tiburon
2.4L 06 Balt vs V-6 04 Tiburon
I have a 2.4L sedan balt, and im racing my friends v6 tiburon this weekend, i know the v6's have 172 hp (i believe, not 100% sure)
Think I can win? Stock for Stock? Just want some forecasts from you guys so I have somewhat of an expectation

Well, Stock for Stock wise, our 2.4L are 171 hp, and his v6 is 172hp~ I have exhaust (which really shouldnt change the outcome of this race) , so i unno, i thought it would be a close race, any other guesses?
I can prolly beat it 100% soon as i get my intake and tune~
an 04 v6 tiburon is a mid 15 second car if driven right, the 2.4 litre is a mid to low 15 second car if its a 5 speed. A stock auto 2.4 balt is a high 15 to low 16 second car stock.
Have any of you actually ever driven a tibby? I test drove an 07 V6 and it was slower than dog ***** with the tiptronic auto. My 08 has 173 from factory. Ik you have a 4-door but i'm going to say you should be able to win, it could be a drivers race
i looked up specs and what other people have ran, took me 30 seconds to find some specs, they are a mid 15 second car if its a standard.
They only weight slightly more then our car, have the same HP but have more torque so yes it will be a close race

Stock for stock the 2.4L is a slightly faster car. It's pretty pathetic really since the Tib is a V6, albeit a small one. I would expect a V6 car to have at least 200 hp, so it's pretty lame on Hyundai's part.
When I bought my 06' Cobalt SS/SC I test drove an 07' Tiburon GT with the v6, rated at 172 HP. It was really slow to say the least. I test drove a Sonota just for the hell of it and it was way faster then the Tiburon. There family sedan is much faster then there "sports car".
