Post 2.4L - All you expected?

I don't know about you guys but I know I bought the 2.4L SS because I expected a ton more then I got. I know mine stickered for 20,995 but being a GM supplier I got it for 18,595, I think. I saw this as a huge potential to add-on a lot more then I have so far. Right after I bought it (2 days to be exact) I put on AEM CAI I had bought for my previous cobalt. I also added on a drifter2 front end kit you see all over E-bay. So far I have met or seen no one else with Drifter 2 kit, front end only or not. The front end ALONE cost me 490 after shipping and everything, almost 200 for the paint (Metallic Amythest is expensive) and 200 to get put on. It is a fiberglass piece of **** and very hard to mold it right. That is 890 just on the front bumber. After that I had lots more money to spend on it. I was dead sure saving the 3-4k on the supercharged and saving on insurance and adding aftermarket SC would be a good idea. Unfortunately I have yet to find one and heard they are extremely hard to port onto it. The turbo kit would need heavy modding to fit my car. I definetly expected it to be easier to find / add parts onto this car. Ugh... I think as a forum of dedicated 2.4L Cobalters we should petition them or something get the ball rolling for us not just the 2.0 SS/SC'ers... Damnit this sucks! So really what do you guys think? Are you happy so far with your 2.4L in the way of mods? I don't want an exhaust, headers, or really none of the exhaust system mods until I can add some fuxxoring boost. I want to add it all at once and punch my biatch! I love the car but the mods I wanted aren't here! So tell me what you think...

The car is still relativley new to the market so if you give it a little time and all of us 2.4 guys show some intrest, the parts will come. To be honest though I got the 2.4 because I needed a car with great milage yet some ***** and thats what I got. My daily driver is the cobalt. However the real toy is a Mach 1. Good luck to you.

The 2.4 is the perfect choice for those of us who want a little more oomph than a base Cobalt but want to keep fuel economy in check.

That's what I was looking for and that's what it delivers.

A 2.4 with I/H/E is almost at fast as a S/C SS.

So I'd say thats pretty good.

the 2.4 is that far behind the ss/sc, lots of power campared to other sport coupes in its segment, plus i was at my buddys shop, he frabricates turbos and he says when i eventually turbo it i can expect around 265 hp...

But all of these are eventuallys I don't want my car to be 6 years old when it is pushing over 260 hp. I planned on keeping it for a while anyway but I am trying to get engineers at my work to help me with what we can do next since no one else has answers

Remember that, atleast here in Canada, the 2.4L is the newest model coming out in '06.

I have a question, does the 4 door SS have ground effects or anything like that on it?

just wait..good things come to those who wait...you have enough power on tap for right now but when the time comes right if the mods are baaaaaddd ace...we might eventually have everybody wishing they had a 2.4...although I doubt that, but any who when I buy one I will be buying the 2.4 and upgrade it when the time comes right speaking of does anyone have any official 1/4 mile times from a 2.4l auto that they can post the slips from????

I dunno, maybe its the rims but the 2.4 sedan looks soo much kick ass then a regular one, also that SS tag makes the deal complete for me, im considering getting it as a 4 door
