Hey wats goin on, i got a 2006 Cobalt SC. Anyone got any ideas as to wat a first good mod would be? Or anything I should take care of first to make my car faster than it is. Please anybody and everybody hit me up with ideas

 

Welcome to the site. Sup MC, first post man! Id say stage 2 or 3. A new header and DP would be cool too. And or course the WINDOW TINT!!!!

 

Airbox Mod. It's free, it's effective.

 

GM stage 2, or
Rebel stage 2 or
Intense stage 4 or
Cobalt-addiction stage 4,5,6
GM honed exhaust manifold or
GM cat-back exhaust or
GM stage 3 with dry shot of nitrous

1. GM stage 2 with stg 3 pulley
2. GMPP honed exhaust manifold
3. GMPP catback Touring
4. Dual-pass endplate with GM option B.

careful with 4,5 and 6 tho. I heard they void your warranty!

 

You would want to go to crateenginedepot.com. You'll find good prices on upgrade kits for the cobalt and other goodies.

Your first mod should be an Ingalls or motor/trans mounts. Why bother making more power if your car hops around like a bitch?

 

^^ My car doesnt hop at all and I have none of the mods you listed .

i agree you can launch insted of hop

 

it only hops if it spins...

maybe he has some really good tires??


even with my mods, i do not spin first gear (good tires)

I would do more research so that when you mod you have a better understanding of what your getting into.
Modding can be very addictive.

 

1st mod- airbox mod
Then cat back exhaust and stage 2
Work on suspension and traction mods too

 

I hope my cat isnt plugged at 4,000 miles . But no I dont hop at all from a roll and I still havent really lauched my car yet. My car has hopped maybe 2 times on me and once was in the rain.

1st mod, go to neweraperformanceparts.com, get a kit with 2.8" pulley, injectors, and custom tune, if i had to do it all over again, thats what i would have done. and get a k&n filter with the airbox mod, and the header/dp/catback
