2006 Cobalt SS S/C buy

Hey everyone...as many of you may know I am a former owner of a 2005 Chevy Cobalt SS and got into an accident totalling it... I ended up buyin gan SRT4 and miss the cobalt a lot... However I was at my chevy dealership the other day to drop off paper to get my extended warranty money back and what do I see but a nice black 2006 Cobalt SS S/C with teh G85 package, tinted windows, GMPP Exhaust, and Injen CAI... it got my eyes locked and I almost bought it... Only problem is ... I dont think I can afford it.. I am paying about 280 a month on my 2004 SRT4 and if I buy the balt it will be up to like 330... My questions are... would my imsurance increase noticably from buyin a 2006 from a 2004, is $20,000 after everything..(sales tax, plates, etc.) for a 20,000 mile car.. Im just not a good negotiator with dealerships... my srt4 runs perfect now with all new wheels and tires, turbo and everything, just I miss the cobalt a lot... should I buy it or do u think it be too much for me since IM barley getting by on the srt4... any tips at all would be very appreciated

Thanks! Bryan

wait a lil while... there is no need to get yourself into a financial bind if you dont have to.

It's interesting to hear that you're a former Cobalt owner and you miss the car from the SRT-4. Care to give us a few reasons why?

Keep the SRT... much easier car to get to go really fast. Plus the utility of 4 doors and a back seat people can actually get into if they want to.

If I could have gotten my hands on a SRT-4 I would have had one.

I want to first thank you all for your advice... I started to do what you said and I told them I just can afford to pay anything more than I am paying now so I was goign to have to pass it up.. So I got a call back... They fixed my payments the same as what I was paying on the srt.... a $1 less a month actually to be exact.... SO I just ahd to do it... I bought a black 2006 CObalt SS/SC with G85 Package... I have to admit I will miss the neon a lot... It was a fun car, faster, easy as hell to launch and sounded sick... but that car is way to bad on gas for me, not the best daily driver, and looks nothing like the cobalt ss. The srt was a ticket waiting to happen.. the urge to step on the peddle of the car is so hard to resist... but once I got back in the balt I felt like I was in a sporty luxury car compared to the interior of the neons... I love the way it rides, and I get heads turning all over... btw it has the GMPP exhaust and INjen CAI... So yea it came to me not needing a fast car nemore but a car with some decent power to it that can be fun.. but more into the looks of the car now.. Im proud to say I am once again a Cobalt SS/SC owner again!

Again, thanks for all your advice

very sweet...good choice. did the dealership make you pay for a greater amount of time? or just larger down payment? Nice to have the injen and gmpp exhaust!

black is the color to have too!
