A cammed, ported head, ls6 intake, full exhaust, and geared LS1 is a drivers race for a pulley only 03 Cobra.

And it depends on the year for the camaro>mustang debate. Back in the foxbody 5.0 years the camaro couldnt touch the mustang.

And yes the supercharger/turbo thing is true......but since 1979 the camaro has always had a bigger motor. 302 vs 350, 4.6(281) vs LS1, 5.7(350), and still the new GT500's are only a 5.4.....

The LSX series of motors are an amazing design, and make gobs of power. The first comparable motor ford has made is the new 5.0.....remember we are still comparing a 5 liter engine to a 6.0 liter in the new camaro. I wish ford would make a 6 liter DOHC motor based on this new 5.0 technology......it would be insane!!

I'm not a mustang fan by any means but I am a realist ...... I really don't understand the mindset here that a tuned SS/TC will beat anything out there . In reality most tuned SS/TC's i've seen run mid 13's as an average ....yes there are some people in the 12's but they are usually running full bolt on's and drag radials or slicks . plus they are the exception's .... not the rule. A tune only SS/TC is NOT going to rule the streets like some here like to believe.

oh and one other thing....most 03-04 Cobras will destroy 99.99% of cars on this website in the 1/4 mile. Yet all I hear is 99.99% of cobalts on here will destroy and mustang....

Hope you realize doing the exact same thing to those cars as a GM stage 2 will net you mid to low 11's if the driver can halfway drive....
OK. i admit new mustangs are pretty fast BUT, i never said it didnt take too much to beat both terminators and 5.0s...i said it doesnt take an LSJ or an LNF to be making over
400hp+ on 20lbs+ of boost to beat them...it would take an boosted lsj making around from 350-370whp to take on a new 5.0 for Sure. seen it happen many times. obiously in the track at a 1/4 mile is a different story mainly cuz of the launchin but rollin race different outcome...and i think it takes alittle bit more time for u to get to know the cars that are on here before u assume that 99.99% of the cars here wont take a cobra or a 5.0stang...

Evolution Performance went 11.82 in the new GT with a k and n drop in, offroad x-pipe, axle back, tune and tires. Pretty good if you ask me. Oh and a little suspension work out back.

Two reasons:

1) C.A.F.E. standards (Corporate Average Fuel Economy);
Basically your gov't requires that manufacturers make more gas mizers than gas guzzlers.
If the manufacturers didn't play by these rules, they wouldn't be able to build & sell high powered v8 cars.

2) Secretaries (ect) who like the sporty looks and ride of pony cars, while not giving a hoot about performance.

No one here is saying Balt SS's are the end-all in performance cars. On the other hand, I don't call track prepped Cobras "stock" either. Because that's what it would take for one of them to run mid-12's.

Go read the "Time Slip Bar" section of SVT Forums, they're FULL of true box stock 03 Cobra's that ran 13.1-13.5's when new.

Mine with only nitto drag radials went 12.6.......I dont really count runs made on street tires as a good indication of what a car can do. I couldn't break 12.9 on my brand new BFG street tires. I don't consider bolting slicks or drag radials on a car "cheating".
