has anyone seen this malibu yet? 240 HP out of a supercharged Eco is not half bad...the LSJ guys should look into this....

Maybe it's the lsj with a smaller pulley and a pcm recal.

 

They are most likely just not under-rating.

if i was a betting man i would say a 2.4 with a blower. i thought the malibu's came with a 2.4

 

It is most likely the 2.4L, i hope so anyway. That is the engine that will be in my Cobalt SS when it gets here in two weeks. It has 171 HP according to GM, so if they can get some aftermarket stuff or a GM supercharger upgrade I bet the Cobalt would fly.

 

Most guys are showing numbers of around 205 at the wheels.....

205 x 1.17 = 239.85 hp at the crank

 

easy bro the GM does under-rate their cars the cobalt SS/SC is actually around 230-240 hp and 205 at the wheels

 

Exactly, Why would they under-rate a concept/show car?

 

I saw that car at the Woodward Dream Cruise, it has the 2.0 in it. They have the supercharger and valve cover polish man did it look sexy, I wanted to make a quick swap out but the person working at the booth wouldn't let me.

 

Actually the base models come with the 2.2l b/c the 2.4 is only in the Cobalt and The HHR so far till the Pursuit and the Solstice come out.

 

by your calculations i still have more measured=hp than 205 to the wheels

 

I thought the Malibu SS is a 240hp V6?
