2nd 02 bung placement?

Went to the exhaust shop today to get an extra bung welded on for my wideband, They said they've only done widebands on catless track cars of theirs, and didnt know if the cat would screw up the 02 readings, I went ahead and got it right after the normal 02 sensor, figured I'd take the 30$ risk, did I just **** up?

yup, wideband should be before the cat as close to the collector as possible

there should have been plenty of room before the cat.

ya they should have been able to drill the hole right below the flex portion, it will be fine where it is but your not gonna get a 100% accurate reading. its going to be skewed a bit due to the cat

I just need enough to be tuned at WOT, if I didn't need it to be tuned I wouldn't be getting one, right now the bung is inbetween the ZZP Badge and the original bung, also theres a chance my cat is dead haha, got a code for it awhile back

ya like i said, it will read and should be enough to get you tuned as long as the tuner knows that its after the cat and you guys know what the difference between before the cat and after cat readings. what you can also do for tuning purposes is disconnect the first o2 sensor and put the wideband in there to get a reading of what it is before the cat and then put it back to normal and that should give you what the difference is

The first one, being the one thats on the header?

Could I just plug the wideband into that one? and have both the stock ones plugged in past the cat?

no because that first o2 sensor actually controls fuel trims and putting it after the cat will screw your fuel trims beyond belief

Damn, Okay, looks like I'll be calling the exhaust shop tomorrow haha, I'd rather have another one welded on for 30 bucks, rather then having a misreading wideband, unless its really not that bad

My exhaust is gonna be like swiss cheese haha

its up to you on that, personally i would rather have it in the correct spot and not have to worry about it then have to remember that its not the actual reading all the time
