My 06 made less noise with 30K miles on it than my 09 does. I think the unions were pissed at giving up money and benefits when my new car was built...... so the build quality went down.

Hmmm, maybe I should get all those mods and then my FAN won't squeak anymore. Great input.

My ex-roommate had the same problem with his 08 Canyon. It was covered under warranty for those who can still get it.

Good luck with it. Those little noises are the ones that drive me insane.

Turn the fan all the way off and then hit the recirculate button.

Lol. Mine's been doing it for like 5 months, I just never knew where it was to get to it. Look like I'll be snooping around the cabin filter area. It's just too damn cold for this right now! Haha

Does that really work, cuz when my recirculate is engaged, and I shut the fan off, it closes by itself. And it can't be turned on if the fan's off.

the recirculate just turns on your max ac and no it cant be turned on unless your either set to floor face or both. but no matter what it wont turn on but just blink a few times without the fan on.

I don't think my extended GMPP powertrain warranty will cover this.

I tried hitting the dash once. I won't do it again, I'll probably make something else break!

On another note, does anybody else have the problem:

It seems when I turn the fan control to floor, it does absolutely nothing. I mean NOTHING! the air pumps our the face vents just as much, and I feel no air coming out of the floor. I've tested it in a bunch of other cars, and it's neat how when the climate control is turned to feet on those cars, it goes to the feet!

The only thing that I notice in the location knob is that it tuns the defroster on properly, and sends it to the windshield. But it still pumps like hell out of the face vents. ALL THE TIME, it could be the farthest from the face setting, and it still comes out of those at full blast. WTF!!!

Is it just me?

I would also do this, and try to resist the urge to squash it because I wouldnt want to get a disease for changing my cabin air filter.
