Thanks

I guess its time to switch to trifecta tune. Before that, of course, will read the instructions from Trifecta FAQ and start looking at HPT to buy the software.

Good idea!

Remember, the Trifecta Stage 3 flash is the identical tune from GM Racing. The only difference is the air conditioning is unlocked.

If you want "custom" tuning from Vince, you will need to make sure to tell him in your order.

I'm waiting to get a new wideband, but my AFR has always been around 11.3ish in the upper rpms.

Since this is a little GM3 thread i might at well make a post with a little info.

I went from a GM2 to a GM3 tune then eventually hopped on the dyno and did a baseline and then had BYT tweak the tune another tweak and another pull.

Baseline Pull 233/190
First BYT Tweak: 243/199
Second Tweak: 253/223

This was with a 2.9, no cooling mods, injen intake, and ZZP 3' Catless DP

I was unfortunately not impressed with HOM mode. I am extremely consistant and ran all 2.0-2.1 all yeah round out of the hole. I actually did worse in HOM mode on both 93 and 100 octane gas. Cant explain it just happened.

I remember you saying this once before. I was shocked.

My car pulls considerably harder while HOM is engaged w/ race gas. I wouldn't recommend running HOM with only 93 octane in the tank. You will only pull timing, and be sent back into the default 93 octane tune.

yeah honestly it dont make much sense with all the info posted above. My HOM light did not go off in either 93 and of course not at 100 either, just did not run any better at all.

Did i mention only 38 days until track season here.

Hmm, that's odd.

I tested 93 octane in HOM, and saw 4* KR at 5500rpm in 2nd gear, and my light went out.

The light might have stayed on, becayse you had 100 octane mixed with the 93 octane.

You might of had enough octane to keep HOM engaged w/o hitting the magic 4* KR that pulls HOM.

Here is the 93 octane timing curve to compare with the 100 octane curve posted above.

This is a comparison of 93 octane vs 100 octane fuel showing timing with rpms through a 2nd gear pull. This data was taken from above.

are you saying hom was slower than the regular gms3, or the gms3 byt tune?

Nice. Thanks.

I will have to see if I have any HOM data from a roll (i think i do).

It doesnt show the ramping of timing when you go all out through the gears (like seen in my 93 octane rolling start run).

Just saying i am consistant as hell on 60ft and never ran better in HOM mode with 100 octane. It sure felt diffferent. You could feel the extra timing down low but never gave me a better ET at the track. And like i said i am no slouch there .

Running tests with my G-Tech Pro RR, I noticed higher MPH in my 1/4 runs while running race gas in HOM. This was no doubt due to the increased power it provides. As for my times, they were all fairly close between 93 octane & 100 octane. They were maybe within a 10th or two from each other.

The real 1/4 mile enhancer on the GMR S3 PCM is the nitrous algorithm.

What 1/4 mile times and mph does your GTech Pro RR indicate? I think my best was 13.5 or 13.6 at 107 mph with 93 octane and all-season tires.

from what i understand, the lsj/lnf pcms share the same fueling tables which is why you cant have a switchable tune between he two fuels.

...thats why i have two pcm's, 1 for gas, and if i ever get the chance, the other for e85...easily swap pcm's while filling the tank at the station

You can not alter the parameters in HOM, but it is possible to custom tune the 93 octane tune.

HOM is really nothing more than a spark adder. It adds a given amount of spark to the existing spark table on the default 93 tune.

I have logged a slightly leaner AFR in HOM as well, but nothing crazy. It's just a little leaner through out the mid range, and some of the upper range.

There has been talk about a dual tune, but no progress yet.

My best 1/4 mile was 13.83 @ 109 mph with a craptastic 2.3 60'.

My best 1/8 mile was 9.0 @ 85.75 mph

My all season tires are def holding me back. I get pretty consistent times (60', 1/4mile, trap speed), but I can't get the car to hook up. I need to get my 60' time down. I know the car has high 12's in her.
