AC problems already

Well 1000 miles into my ownership of a 05 LS coupe the air decided to quit working on me. It blows and all but no cold air. Worries me for some other only because my brother who lives in San Antonio was at his local chevy garage getting his truck serviced and he said he saw a cobalt being brought in for the same exact thing.

O well i got a Envoy for a rental, but I will inform everyone on what they find wrong when I get it back

...not exactly a great launch for the cobalt...people having to get there cars towed...engine lights coming on...and now air conditioning failing...imagine how many problems there will be once you have the car 3 or 4 years

You really have to take problems with a grain or salt. They are something to take note of, but not everybody knows about this site. Probably 75-80 % that post about their Cobalt are going to be problems. So chances are you are going to here a lot more complaints then good stories.

well just an update at 2500 miles now and just got the car back for the 3rd time yes the 3rd time the AC has quit working.. The dealer said it keeps blowing AC pressure sensors. GM is suppose to have designed a new wire harness for that sensor because they say that is the problem. I guess we will find out soon

There is a TSB for this problem. The AC system was overcharged.

i thought it was a rule that if you took your car back 3 times for the same problem that they are libligated to exchange your car for a new one. That is how my dealership set it up.

What a lot of people who say "oh thats what you get for buying a new car that ahsnt been out" you are just hearing more about this car than normal becuase its new, I have 6 people yes 6 who work at dealerships that are friends and family and this happens to ALL cars, now I know your gonna say well it didnt happen to mine, it does happen all these stupid little things Check Engine AC fans all that they all go wrong all the time, not everyone goes to a message board to say their Jetta's AC just broke.

I would hope after the third time at the dealer that they checked TSB's for this issue...
Thanx for the info however!

The problem with blowing the a/c pressure sensor's are because there is a bug in the wiring. There's an abnormally bigger voltage spike in the circuit for some reason. I personally had to fix a cobalt for this problem at my dealership. You have to install a new jumper harness with a diode which doesnt let current flow both ways, just one way so hopefully it shed some light and insight to why a/c problems are arising. nothing to big to worry about, just normal problems.
