Advice? Thinking of a switch
Hey everyone, first post but I've been a lurker for a while. Anyways, I currently own a 2008 cobalt sport yellow in automatic. It has 1600 miles on it and I got it for a good price, 60 month financing, 330 a month plus extended warranty plan. I've always wanted a SS/SC and found one a 2005 with 24k miles for 13,500.
The question is, should I make the switch? If anyone has any idea on reliability and how much extended plan on the SC would cost? The insurance company said the SC insurance would actually be $10 dollars less a month(Go figure?). It was basically the car that got me turned onto a cobalt. I like my sport except it's auto..and I just like 5 speeds better..and the leather is kewl too. Im guessing the monthly will be around the same or less which is good.
Any help or opinions is appreciated, thanks guys for making this place great!

kbb says your car is worth about 15,500 in trade in. so, you're getting juiced for at LEAST 2 grand if the asking on the SS/SC is 13,500. for that to work, they'd have to give me some sort of incentive. basically, my payment had better drop a LOT.

Yeah I'll have to go see and what they say about that. Its just starting to look more and more like keeping the Sport is the smarter option. I mean I'm covered bumper to bumper until 2013..thats pretty impressive. I might just add some GMPP parts and make it a little more fun.

well, i'm a 2.4 owner and with my personal car, you'd not find a whole lof of SCs that can run away from me. (you may find quite a few on this site, but i'm speaking in general) so, yes, the car can be a lot of fun.

I would be completely happy with it if it was 5-speed..they're just alot harder to find. And the deal I got on mine was too tempting to resist..I bought it with 200 miles for 17,300. The extended warranty was only like 500 bux so an extra like 6-7 dollars a month. It is a great car, it looks hot, and the pioneer bangs. I think with an intake/cat back system it would be more fun. I love the stock rims too. So I think I am just gonna keep what I got unless someone has some harrowing words of wisdom for me.

I just don't wanna void warranty..due to the fact that is a main factor for keeping the Sport lol. I can easily do the install myself as I'm a tech at CarMax but I don't want to have any issues.

I know the SC is better lol. Otherwise I wouldn't consider it. Does anyone know what GM usually charges for extended warranty plans? And would I still be able to get one added on as its at a Ford dealer? How reliable are the SC's? I've always been afraid of owning forced induction cars due to extra maintenance costs.
