Air Box Mod Question

Does anyone know if there is a how-to on how to do the air box mod that Staged07SS (I think that's his username) did? Or anyone that knows how to do it? Thanks!

Like they said above, if you search cobalt ss airbox mod it will come up, but all that he specifically does is drill a few holes into the lid that can be screwed off. (asked him myself)

If you wanna be lazy just take the cover off and leave it off, it's not drilling big holes make a difference

If you want the stock air filter to fall off, sure, go for it! Lol.

The bottom plate is what keeps the stock filter in place. Without it, the filter would fall off, and your intake would suck in all kinds of unwanted ****.

If you remove the bottom cover, you have to use an after market filter with a rubber neck so you can use a hose clamp.

But the "hole" point of this mod is to be able to utilize the stock filter, since staged and others have proved it superior in longevity and filtration, while allowing the stock box to breathe better.

Otherwise just get an aftermarket kit.
I have one for sale in the classifieds! :

I'm pretty sure the stock intake I bought was modded to accept an aftermarket filter, it hasn't hit my doorstep yet for me to check it out. Is it really worse to run a aftermarket filter rather than the stock one? I just want to make sure this stock intake is better than the injen, otherwise what's the point? (for me anyways)

The stock filter or K&N drop in will fall out if you do not have the bottom lid on.

Ask me how many times I've heard of this happening to kiddies thinking it was ok to just remove the bottom lid while running the factory filter, lol.

Do not run the factory box w/o the bottom lid if u plan on running the stock air filter or K&N drop in.
