Anyone buy the SS/SC just for the looks?

Anyone buy their SS/SC just for the looks? I'm really not into racing or modding a car. I just bought my Cobalt SS/SC simply because I thought the thing looked sexy and had a lot of pep. I was excited to be having a car with leather seats, XM, 18" rims, sunroof and keyless and the kickass stereo. I could really care less about speed, some guy at my job would hate me if he knew that's the reason I bought it and not to race it around. I've had more cars than I can count and the SS/SC is my most favorite out of them all! I've had it a month and barely have 600 miles on it, my cars always have low miles.

Same here, I had never had a new car or a car with many options. I was happy with how my Cavailer had served me and had always thought if I ever have the chance to get a new car I would get another Cavi (more so because I would proby not be able to afford much more!) The SS/SC is everything I wanted but never had in a car before, it's fast, looks good, handles good, and has leather, air, CD, sunroof, big rims and a big ass spoiler. I am not a 20 something kid that is going to go out and race people to show off how fast my car is, the way I see it is anybody who knows anything about cars will know how fast my car is and if they know nothing about cars I don't really care what they think! I have really gottin into the whole supercharger thing though and have thought about taking it to the track, but I have never run a car down the strip before or even really raced anybody on the street (never had a car fast enuf to without picking on soccer moms in minivans!) I had a Taurus once and raced a guy in a Prelude but I am not sure he was racing me! The power is nice but really had very little to do with me buying the car, I knew the Cobalt was the replacement for the Cavailer, I figured the SS was just the new Z24, never really read much on them when they came out and bought the SS never having driven one.

I bought this car mainly for looks... the performance just sweetened the pot. The way I figured it, if I bought any other car I would have to buy low profile tires and rims, new ground effects package and a system. This car already had all of that so all that extra money can now go into performance. What a package for 19,990...... if I had to pay 24k like some people on the site then I may have felt differently.

I personally started looking at the SS/SC because it looked hot as hell. I also really like the 2.4L SS. However, not long after I started looking into the Cobalt on the net, and started trying to learn as much about these cars as I could, I quickly started to have interest in it's race potential.

I've always been a fan of doing Show before Go. Simply because I don't condone street racing, and there aren't any tracks less then an hour and a half drive away from my city . However, this time around with the Cobalt, since it's already sexy, and there are limited things we can do with them right now, performance parts are my primary target for this summer!

Ditto here. But it's nice to be able to add a few mods for performance. You guys were right when you said it can take over a small part of your life.

I bought my ss/sc for a few reasons, it has great power potential, it looks great, and to mod the hell out of it, and to race and go to the track

I bought mine for a daily driver that could also hold its own on the road course. The looks are nice, but I wanted the performance and handling.

i fell in love with the cobalt last summer. I know i have the base model but i will upgrade somtime (maybe). I like all aspects of all the Cobalts! GM had a better answer for the ECONOCAR with the cobalt then the Cavi (IMHO)

If I were just buying it for performance, I would have got the SRT4, but I really wanted a coupe and this car is honestly the complete package with the looks and performance. Also it was kinda cool being one of the first to have it and no one knowing what it was. Also I've had it for a year now and I still love it as much as the day I first saw it. And everytime my buddies or some random person in a parking lot or gas station comes up to me and compliments my car, it just feels even better. Chevy really really really did a wonderful job with this car.

this ss/sc is kinda like myspace.. you're completley addicted to it, yet you have no idea why

just kidding, im sure a lot of people got the ss for looks, but not only does it look amazing, it handles great and is pretty quick. so no matter what the reason you got it for, its got a lot of other perks to go with it

I didn't striclty buy mine for looks, but I have to say that they first time I saw concpet photos of the Cobalt SS S/C, I thought the car was so hott. I started following up on it, up until it first came out at my dealership. I read magazines on em, articles, everything... I just thought this car had such a complete package. I absolutely love my car. It makes driving long trips seem like its nothing and just makes driving fun again.
