ya that's what he meant. And ya, invest in some new tires, read some reviews, most should comment on hydroplaning.

I haven't done any highway driving in heavy rain (I live in Colorado too where lately it seems more like Seattle!) but I agree that the stock Contis suck in just about any conditions. I have issues with them on US36 in the dry due to the tire-tracks in the road. I'll be swapping them out soon, I'm a big fan of the Good Year Eagle F1 GS D3's. They are AWESOME in both dry AND wet, but obviously -they're a high performance summer tire- they SUCK big time in the snow (as do the Contis). In Colorado I think you have to invest in summer and winter tires. All seasons don't do the car justice any time of year IMO. BTW, anybody interested in buying my Contis when I get em replaced? They've only got like 1800 miles on them! (and no, I didn't do any burnouts!)

Is this when it just starts raining (withen the first 15 minutes or so) or after it's been raininga while...

During the first 15 minutes of rain, the rain will lift oil out of the road and cause it to become much more
slick then once the oil has washed away and you just have water on the road.

i had the stock contis on my car when i bought it used and new tires were the second thing i bought once i tried driving in snow with them. i got bridgestone potenza pole position 960AS

frickin beautiful tires. awesome summer grip, no hydroplaning at any legal highway speeds and decent snow traction.

they were pretty cheap too, i got them from a local ETD for buy 3 get one free. lol

Stock conti's blow on the LS models... just sayin. When I bought kumho's, it was a night and day difference.

Try comparing apples to apples. Surf through the Tire Rack site. I'm sure you'll find something you like.

There are some better choices here.

This would be MY choice. Whoops! Sorry! Not in your size.

I have Falken 512's. I've yet to hydroplane on them. I'd have Falken 452's/Bridgestone RE760's if they weren't so exspensive.
