Auto Wipers?

Speed control volume is cool.. but did you guys know we have Auto wipers as well???

If i move the lever up 1 notch the wipers are slow.. and you can turn the dial to choose how often the wipers move. Now i noticed the other night that i moved the level up one, and the faster i went in the car the faster the wipers moved.

50mph it was a constant quick pace. I dropped down to 30mph and the wipers delayed.

I keep learning more and more things about this car

i try not to drive my cobalt in the rain

one night when i first bought it.. i went to start the car (now keep in mind, im used to a grand prix at the time.. you BARELY tap the key forward and it starts... good starter or something.. fires right up)

so im about to start the car, i hold the key forward and my hand slips off, but the car still "put, put, put, vroom!" starts on its own.

I know the new monte carlo SS's have that.. So i was like wtf.. turned the car off, and tapped the ignition again, started right up. Nice

BTW, installed remote starts are SUPER easy on these cars because everything is electrical, and there is a "Hood popped" dummy light on the DIC, so you dont have to install one of those push button things under the hood.

Pretty decent car for ~20k

Yeah, I have had my 'Balt over a year and I didn't notice that until this week (also could be because there hasn't been any rain much in Maryland in the last year).

Ya that's a new feature on most new GM cars, basically if you held the key in start on cars, you'd get that nasty clunkin noise of the starter keep firing, but with new ones it just starts on its own really. tap the start and it does the rest

Comparing my Cobalt to my mother's BMW 325i, I was surprised just how many features that our cars had in common (everything from sterring wheel audio controls to those speed-sensitive wipers and even automatic lights). But I guess after driving a 1999 Ford Expedition just about any automatic gadgets seem like a revolution in automotive thinking.

I never knew this! But now it makes sense, cause my wipers have been moving at different speeds and i just thought they were going bad...

it's not AUTO (rain sensor) wipers it's just speed sensitive.

but I hadn't noticed we had that honestly!
