Best fix for P0420?

I know this is fairly redundant - but, what is the best fix for a bad CAT?
My 2006 LSJ 2.0 Supercharged G28 'balt has a bad CAT and I want to know the best way to fix it for the least cash!

- New OEM CAT
- Aftermarket CAT
- Aftermarket DP, cat delete, w/tune & antifouler

Please keep in mind!! I live in a Portland, in an area that requires emissions checks.

What's the price of each of these options?
Will the Aftermarket DP w/tune & antifouler pass emission tests?

The video showing error codes:

Running feed video, it's clear that the bank 1 O2 and the bank 2 are the same (cat is bad):

bump!

Also, any idea if the CAT being bad will cause Reduced Engine Power? I've had the REP problem with three other repairs now - and their is nothing more daunting than worrying about that #@$% thing coming back.

Thanks guys.

Hey buddy, glad to see another local. I say aftermarket carted downpipe, then a tune that takes the code off just so you don't have to worry about it. I say get a carted because SC's sound like **** without one.

And yes you'll pass emissions. I passed them with my last two cars having no cats no problem.

I got my catted downpipe from ZZPerformance. Also they deleted the rear O2 sensor in the tune. Ya!

Tripple Post auto merge, going for quadripple!

I wonder how many posts I can get auto merged together.

If this one works, it's number six!

Seven

Eight!

Nine!

Ten, and if this works I give up

Awesome lol

Did you get the 3" w/ the 2.5" exit?

Also they deleted the rear O2 sensor in the tune. Ya!
So, you went with the canned ZZP tune? How is it?

I don't have an ECU Programmer, so I'm at a loss with a tune.

Canned tune worked out okay. Got P0171 when it would get cold. Took my car to ZZP in Grand Rapids, and had Turbo Tim custom tune it. Much better, and picked up 2hp and got rid of some KR.

Also, I got the 2.5" exit for the stock exhaust. My catted downpipe came with my ZZP Long Tube header.

Alright, thanks man. I'm hoping that I can find a performance shop nearby. Any idea how to find nearby ZZPs?

How much was your DP & tune combo?

Right now I'm getting terrible gas mileage (about 15 mpg) - you think I'll get that back from the new DP?

So if you really want cheapest find a stock downpipe.
Most people sell them dirt cheap. Buying a tune and buying a new downpipe doesn't sound cheap. That's at least $350.

Most people sell the stock downpipe cheap cause its only worth about as much as you could get recycling it. So you find a stock pipe we talking $100.

Obviously if you plan on upgrading just get a new downpipe and possibly a tune. Some aftermarkets will throw a code some wont. It's different for every car. My aftermarket catted DP with defouler still threw a code.
