Question bowtie

does the gold piece come off of the chrome piece on the back one like it does on the front?

Not that I know of. I didn't notice if it could be pulled apart or not when I removed mine honestly.

i'm looking at the spare rear bowtie i have right on my desk, when i bend the chrome piece the gold separates. i think its safe to say you can take that one apart too.

Yes, the gold bowtie portion separates just the same. They are both held in place with that industrial glue. Use a hairdryer to loosen the glue if the bowtie is hard to pull off.

Just tape off the silver trim. Then you don't have to worry about whether or not it comes apart

Front, two 10mm bolts. take it off, sand down, paint.

Rear, I believe it is held on with double sided tape. take it off repeat painting process then buy 3m double sided tape to put it back on.
