Brand new and in the shop already!

Got my SS/Sc three weeks ago and so far I had to bring it back to the shop due to a flashing engine light after only two weeks. They said they replaced almost everything (injection, spark plugs, electrical wires...) they could think of and it still won't work properly. I don't know what to do, cuz a new car should not spend almost a quarter of its newborn life in the shop!!! Any ideas on what it could be?

I had my engine light come on after 1600km and it was because of a faulty gas cap. Have them check to make sure your gas lines, etc. are maintaining a vaccuum and if not you're looking at the same problem as I had. Mine didn't flash on and off though it just stayed on until they turned it off...but the car seems to be driving better since they fixed the gas cap.

A flashing MIL(check engine light) indicates operating conditions which will damage the catalytic converter. This is usually a very rich or very lean condition caused by fuel injection or ignition issues....however mechanical failures, such as broken valve springs or other internal engine damage can also cause this.

I had a similar problem. My SES light came on and my car worked like crap. They tried all of those things too and it turned out to be a wire going to one of the injectors. It was rubbing against an AC line and it rubbed away the casing. it was then shorting out and cutting out the injector. They replaced the wiring harness and re-routed the wire and it has worked fine ever since. It was still a stressful couple of days seeing as the mechanics couldn't find the problem.

What's the date on your door stamp? I'm curious if SS' built before a certain time have certain problems. Mine was built in June according to the door stamp and thus far.. has not had many of the problems reported in these forums.
