Mine broke off the first week i had the car. Dont even remember what the shifter was like with it on. Good luck on finding a replacement for warranty work. They say its been on backorder since day 1 (so they say).

Your best bet would be some superglue.

yea **** that knob. mine fell off back in june....went to the dealership to get it fixed, said it was backordered they'd "call me" yea they never called and i went off to college. I tried some super glue, but if you get a stretch of hot days, it may fall off again. some dealerships are just better then others.... good luck

Mine did the same thing, took it to the dealer and they first tried to get the knob piece itself but when it came in it did not come with the plastic piece that tells you what gear your in, so the dealer had to get the whole shift boot assembly under warranty too, that thing is like a hundred bucks if not more take it in for warranty and they should replace the whole thing

Instead of super glue, try rubber cement or an epoxy glue. Both are harder to work with, but they will resist heat better, hold stronger (specially the epoxy), and last longer.

Happened to me a lil while back, took it to the dealer to replace it and all they ended up doing was buying a new faceplate and snapping it in with a little extra glue...if you look close at it, you'll see the little **** that held it in place broke off....I remember when it broke off, it was dark and it hit my foot and remember thinking to myself 'uhhh wtf was that?!' haha

Mine popped of last year. They had to replace the entire shifter assembly. I watched Rob do it in the garage at the dealership.
