This is actually the second time it's been up on GM Buy Power. It was up there for a few days a couple weeks back and taken back down. The first time it was up you couldn't even get to the point where you could choose colors or options it would just error out. Looks like they got it almost working. I noticed the seat color thing as well.

The fact it's up on the GMBuypower site (SS S/C) is a good indication to me that it's going to be avalible this fall. I know rumors have been floating around that the SS won't be avalible till next year Feb 2005. Looks like the SS S/C is in a class of it's own in this matter.

As for the options I wish the LSD was avalible when I ordered mine. I am not sure of the quality but I have a Locking DIFF in my S10 and it's a POS. So maybe the LSD isn't that hot in the cobalt. I think most of the F body guys have to replaces theirs with something better if they wanna push the limits. I am kind of dissapointed in this latest performance package not being offered initially. But then again I didn't sign any papers when I ordered my cobalt so I am not worried about backing out and waiting for a new better version. I am starting to think the preorder thing was more of a testing the waters to see how much production they should allocate to this special model than anythign else.

 

The site isn't very well designed but you can see which interiors go with which colors. Choose your exterior color and then click the view icon next to the picture of the seats. It will show you which colors are available (although they are all listed as trim combination leather/ebony). You will find that all four colors (black/ebony, red/ebony, blue/ebony and yellow/ebony) are available with black or silver exterior, black/ebony only with orange exterior, etc.
