if you have the injectors and the pulley on already...then after you get a used stg2 pcm you WILL need a CASE learn, and a crank position sensor re-learn...the CASE learn is strictly a dealer thing! (cant really be done by a shop...you need a gm tech 2 to do it) Thing about this is, unless you tow your car to the dealer to have the CASE learn done, your timing is going to be jacked up hardcore and the car really shouldnt be driven in that condition...
not sure...couldnt be more than 100 bucks, i wouldnt think. But, as stated, how on earth are you going to get the car there...because there is no way it is going to get there with stg2 and no tune, or with stg2 and a different car's pcm...either way its a no go...
And u can drive the car to the dealer with stock tune on stage 2. Just have to do it carefully. It says so in the how to for stage 2 install. "After stage 2 install, drive carefully to chevy and have ur ecu reflashed."
but as stated...CAREFULLY!!! lol...running lean = fried pistons...nobody wants fried pistons!
I drove my car to the dealer to get the flash after installing stage 2 myself . To be honest at low rpm and being easy on it , i couldn't tell a difference in the cars drivability . If you take it easy and the dealer is fairly close , i wouldn't worry about it too much.
If you swap the PCM the car maaaay not work correctly. The PCM has the cars VIN# in it and changing it will show up in the BCM and may cause issues with other systems. EXAMPLE, when DOC reflashed my PCM in my 07 SS sedan he flashed it to another cars VIN# and my CEL came on. I had to have the car flashed back to stock to get the correct VIN# in the PCM so the BCM would recognize it and both computers would work together.
If you swap a computer from 1 car to another the other computers in the car see it as a problem that they have a non-matching VIN#. Like I said I know this cause I went thru it with my car. It probly won't work right.
