BWoody Solid Front Transmission Mount Review

I ordered the mount late on monday night. Less than 18 hours later the order was processed, and shipped out to me. BWoody kept me notified of every step of the transaction process. I received the mount on time only 2 days later via fedex. Mount was colored "Wrinkle Black". Thank you BWoody for a great looking, perfect fitting product as well as unbeatable processing/shipping. Couldn't ask anything more. Click on any of the pics for full-size.

Very nice welds, appears to be a great quality product:

It came with 2 areas where the paint was chipping (shown above near the right-most mounting hole & below) however it's a transmission mount, so I won't be seeing it or showing it off and its going to take an assbeating anyway so I could care less.

The install was a breeze. I had 2 hours between class and lab so I decided to head home, put it on, test it out, and go back. Install only took about 15-20 minutes and was done with basic handtools.

Same Day as Installation:
After the installation, cranked her up and it was immediately noticeable the difference in vibration and cabin noise. Definitely a more aggressive feel to it and I personally don't mind it a bit.

Driving around for the first time and to school and back I've noticed that the exhaust note does change from an in-cabin perspective but only for the better IMO. It does give you more of a feeling of power. Shifting is very noticeably different as it is MUCH smoother. 1st gear is also bearable now and a little more forgiving of careless footwork. As you pass 2k rpm and continue the sound is much more appealing that without the mount.

Vibrations are not bad at all, stopped or moving when not on the gas (hard or at all). Under moderate to heavy acceleration the vibes and rattles are much more noticeable. It is important to note that the loudest noise is the change that rattles in my change tray during this time. While vibrations are something to get used to at first, they are not as bad as the reputation solid mount(s) have been given on this forum IMO. The vibes are only really bad when you're on the gas below 2k rpm moderately or heavily. Even then it's less than I expected from other reviews/comments.

135 Miles After Installation
Cranking up the car is so much more appealing now. Vibrations are still here but considerably less than initially after install. Between 1 and 2k rpm is the only "bad" vibrations but even now they are not nearly as bad. Exhaust sound has definitely changed, perhaps slightly different from increased vibration but it now seems to have a sort of lobing sound that you hear from mustang gt's and cobras etc. It sounds really good but this is only audible under slower acceleration from daily driving. Under WOT it sounds normal but still gives you the more aggressive powerful feel from the increase in vibration. The vibration does not bother me a bit now. I am used to what's there and after settling in some it doesn't bother me a single bit. MAKE SURE if you get this you remove all change from change-tray because that was the loudest rattle by far.

I actually appreciate first gear some now as it's definitely more usable. Under quick acceleration (not WOT) in first I ONLY get wheel spin. From some semi-aggressive launches it is a HUGE improvement and DEFINITELY worth it. I expect the vibes to settle down a little more and I will update again after 500 and/or 1000 miles. I expect to visit the track in June and am babying the car from stops until then .

500 Miles After Installation
Everything is settled in after install and there really are not too many changes. Aggressive feeling vibrations, more heavy under colder weather and barely noticeable under warmer weather. Either way, launches and 1st gear are 100% improved. With full solid mounts I don't even think you would remember problems of wheel hop. Currently I have 980miles on it and since ~400 miles nothing really has changed.

Overall: I'm very pleased with everything about this mod. Less vibes than expected, easy installation, good vendor support, good noticeable differences in 1st gear driving, shifting of all gears, and way less engine movement at all times. Definitely recommend this product for people looking to get rid of wheel hop and improved launches.
