A/C Problems
A/C Problems
I've been having an issue with my A/C lately. The blower motor turns on, and the A/C request LED comes on, but the clutch doesn't engage and the cooling fans don't come on. I did some troubleshooting and this is where I'm at so far...
-The cooling fans work, because I changed the settings in HPT to make them turn on at a lower ECT.
-I also used HPT to log A/C Pressure in volts and pressure. The signal the PCM is getting is roughly 127 psi with a sensor output of .25 volts (When A/C is not turned on)
-I deemed that my A/C relay was bad by removing it, and jumpering the pins that the relay interrupts. Doing this made the A/C clutch engage, but after leaving the clutch engaged, the A/C inside the car, didn't cool down at all.
If anyone has any ideas what the problem could be, please feel free to help. I'm hoping that the solution is as simple as recharging the freon, but I have a feeling thats not gonna cut it.
