a/c question

so i really didnt know what catagory to go with on this question since theres not really a section for a/c . but im looking for help with my a/c . i recently went to the store to get some r134 since my ac clutch was not engaging but i tried to fill the ac line but it was already maxed out. for some od reason the ac is not turning on and the clutch is not engaging i checked the fuses and they where good and same with r134 so is there a way to check the low pressure and high pressure switches ?

Check your coolant temp while the car is running. If the coolant temp says ---* then this is the reason your AC will not work. Typically it is a code that says the coolant isn't reaching operating temps in the time it thinks it should. This can be remedied with a stock replacement thermostat or disable that code with a tuner.

i checked the coolant temp today it said it was @ 176 , so is there a way to jumper the system to see if the ac even works or ? to help diagnose the problem?

Yeah, you can jump it at the relay.

If you want to DIY, I strongly suggest you buy a set of a/c gauges and the service manual for your car so you will know what the high & low side pressures will be. This will cost a few hundred so it's best to just pay your dealer 1 hour of labor to diagnose, and then fix accordingly.

Best of luck.
