Hey everyone I called chevy today to clear up some questions I had. Not sure if these have already been figured out but here ya go.

The (G85) Performance Package:

Performance Package, includes (G85) Differential, limited-slip and driver and front passenger leather-accented RECARO bucket seats (G85)

You do have to get the seats if you want the LSD

Also

If you want to get Side curtain airbags which you would be crazy not to, you do have to get onstar.

Onstar's package is (UE1) and the airbags are (ASF)

Hopefully that helps, the person I talked to said that a lot of dealers might not know about the G85 package becuase it is fairly new but mention that code and they should be able to figure everything out.

Now that everything is clear as soon as I sell my 2002 Cavy I can go order my arrival blue cobalt ss with all the options... except the smokers package for 15.00 NO SMOKING IN THE COBALT!!!

 

I got side curtain air bags and didnt get onstar

 

I am guessing that you don't have your car yet?? I would give your dealer a call as you will most likely find that either the factory adds onstar for you, removes the air bags from the order, or will have your order just sitting there since it's incorrect. Unless something has changed, I have been told from a number of sources, that Onstar is required for the side-curtain airbag option, infact, the electronics are integrated somehow.

 

Well....my car is in my driveway and im pretty sure i have side curtain airbags(even says so on the options list and on the ceiling inside the car) and i dont have onstar cuz i dont have that fugly think on the roof of my car

 

hmmmmmmm more info on this, i ordered side bags, but no onstar, i dont want onstar, anybody else

 

Yeah I ordered my Cobalt SS Supercharged without OnStar and from what's been told to me from my dealer, the vehicle will be produced.

 

It is the other way around.

If you want on star you have to get side curtain air bags.

You can get the airbags without onstar tho.

You aint kidding....like there u have it a beautiful car all nice and sleek with a big knob of your friggin roof...let me tell you ill be the first in line to get that

 

Ok.......................so there's another issue in Canada............you can't get side curtain air bags without onstar!!!!! Period!!!!

 

I wasn't tryin to argue but on gmbuypower.com they tie the two options together, at my dealer they said they go together and also I called chevy and they said they go together. So maybe this has changed since some of you ordered or got yours, who knows.
