I would like to clear something up about going with different tires and how it effects speed governors.

If you change tire size, your governed speed limit will change by a factor of New_Tire_OD/OEM_Tire_OD.

You may not notice the change because your speedometer is based on transmission rpms. You go with a taller tire, you get more velocity at every given transmission rpm.

speedo will read the same number, so whats it matter? unless you're tracking speed by GPS, it wont matter at all

oh my bad, I believe in things that are real and not just what your gauges say.

people were sayin that changing tire size wont effect your governed max speed.

well it does.

Not sure what this 105 stuff is? My LT does 115 as did my wife's base G5. People saying it depends on the tires but I had the 15" steelies with the Fuel Economy tires so nothing special here.

Because it is an LT and not an LS/Base

So all LTs(regardless of wheel/tire combo) have the same, all 2.4s have the same, etc...
except for the LSs which vary depending on wheel/tire?
That makes no sense. It was said earlier that it's the tire which has the limit and not the car(i understand this fully just spelling it out for argument's sake). But then if you have a higher model but the lower wheel/tire (like me) you still have the higher model limiter? Seems like a huge lawsuit waiting to happen. Now I wish one of my tires had blown on a top speed run.
