I mean it's not an sc/tc but an n/a but damn, at around 4k rpm the car is loud. And that is one thing i dont like. When cars have loud exhaust. Is there a way to tone it down?

You might wanna give some details about the car like is it stock, modded, aftermarket exhaust?

 

try driving a 12v cummin reg cab with a 6in stack 4 inches from your head.. thats LOUD! haha

just going to need a new muffler probably, or i believe its called a "whisper" by zzp? thats supposed to quited them down.. I think.

 

^the whisper is a resonator and since the OP hasn't even stated if the car is modded there's not much help anyone can really give lol

 

As far as I know it is stock. I'm not completely sure about the previous owner. Well my sister was the previous owner but she didnt mod it. As for the owner before that, I don't know. I'll look into this whisper

 

Assuming its all stock it shouldn't be loud unless its got a hole somewhere.

 

And how much might this hole cost to fix

 

Well that depends on where the hole is and how big it is. Honestly there's not much we can tell you with no information. Could be a gasket, could be a busted flex pipe, could be a blown out muffler or resonator. All with different costs to fix. A video of it when it is this loud might help.

 

Does your exhaust look like this?



If so, it's stock, and if it's loud, you probably have an exhaust leak.

If there's a leak in the muffler, easy fix is to just get a new muffler put on. Or if it's small enough to patch.

Now we are getting somewhere. Now poke your head under the car real quick and see if there is a name on the muffler and tell us if there is a cat on your downpipe

 

I know when I busted my cat last year that it got progressively noisy over time. Finally had GM cover it under emissions warranty.

That looks like just a tip on a stock exhaust, you prob have a hole somewhere in your exhaust system then.

If its the 2.4 the engine can be noisy w/o exhaust work. personally i like the sound of the 2.4 i wouldent say it sounds like fart can exhaust though
