The car is totaled

Well ten thousand miles on the engine that was all forged with lightweight everything no balance shafts god everything you can do to a cobalt except for cams and I just smashed into some jackasses trailer that was sideways on the highway. Car is totaled and I am pretty sure i ripped the side of my transmission off. I will load pictures tomorrow but it wrinkled the a pillars and roof snapped the doors pretty much completely off set off all air bags and put both my front tires under the car. I just got the turbo for it today too. I had everything to do a turbo swap intercooler wil be here in a few days. So just so everyone knows I may buy this back and part everything out. Including the new 3 gauge zzp a pillar pod. I will let everyone know if i buy it back and part it out. I just needed to vent. Stupid people not knowing how to hook up a trailer....

i assume the trailer fell off and he was pretty close behind it and didnt have time to react.

to OP, that really sucks on totaling the car. it's never easy to see a car you put a lot of time or money into. good luck on getting it to part out. that'll help earn some money for a new one...

its a garret gt30. I am going to see if i can send it back first. I am not sure what car to get next. I cant stand the plactic interior of the cobalt. I am thinking g6gxp and turbo that. or maybe jsut get a normal car and finally finish my drag car. But here is a quick mod list: ls4 throttle body, port and polished supercharger (with silencer holes filled) , intake, head and exhaust manifold. 2.9 pulley with zzp adjustable tensioner dual pass, zzp heat exchanger, fererra valves and springs. balance shaft delete forged wiseco pistons and custom I beam rods. all balanced with a dimond hone finish on the cylinder walls bored .030 over. aluminum flywheel with spec organic clutch. all solid motor mounts. Interior had a custom center cd played install kit with a two gauge pod that housed my wideband and electric opil pressure gauge. It ran about I would say 24 psi through a straight 3'' magnaflow exhaust that consisted of 2 resonators and a muffler. (louder that hell) 42 pound injectors, all braided lines and fittings, dyno tuned by zzp. Thats all I can think of right off hand but it really sucks to see all that dissappear. I think thats enough to but it back...

no its not even following too close that did it two cars in front of me went to the right from all the wood planks on the road and when I went to the left the trailer was laying right there so we smashed into that and then bounced into the side of a brand new grand prix. It pushed the passengers side floor board over about 2 feet and made my friend have a sprained ankle and that was the only injury. It appears the engine is completely fine so I may be Buying it back the trailer I hit ripped the transmission in half though.

well I was going to post pictures but apparently I cannot. so unless someone has another suggestion

i just recently got into an accident with my car too. not nearly as bad as yours and it was only an LS, but it still sucks seeing something that you enjoyed driving get destroyed because of someone's stupidity.

air bag deployed in steering wheel and i think I bent it with my hand on impact. engine will be depending on how much i can buy it back for. It has about 3k into it with 10k miles. All forged all arp studs and all new bearings, seals, timing components including guides and lifters. It was in michigan on 69 north near potterville. I checked under the hood and everything looks salvageable. I will keep this updated.

what gave it away? the fact that i completely missed my bumper, thus not allowing the airbags to go off and total my car. or the fact that you can see where the trucks tow hitch ball went straight into my bumper on the driver side. lol

heat exchanger is destroyed I already have seen that. I did hit the trailer on the drivers side then launched off that into a 2 day old grand prix that is the passenger side damage. by the way it was the new jersey plate that gave it away. lots of snow just asumed lots of trucks.... ha ha ha
