Completely fucked up my old ride too. Spun out on black ice, hit a pole at the side of the road and then spun twice (I was out cold on the first impact, this is what the cop told me a witness saw) and came to a stop upon nailing a tree in front of a house. I was pissed royally as I had just got the Stage III upgrade about 3 weeks prior to the accident. My foot kept the gas pedal down until the engine blew so that fucked any chances of salvaging it. Now I drive a T/C Cobalt and couldn't be happier. Just don't let it get to you too bad. Cars can be replaced, but your life can't. Walking away un-injured is the fact you should try to focus on most. I'd probably want to beat the living **** out of whatever douche bag let that trailer go but that's just me lol. I guess the point of my post was to show your not alone on that one but judging by the responses i'm sure you already realize that.

Lost my job and car on the same day last December. I now have a new job and a new car. I was uninjured, well, just my ego, and go home every night to my wife and kid. It all works out.

Holy how! that is an epic wreck also man. I just called the dealer with the inspections and they said they are just starting the inspection and it is at 22,000 already in damage. I found out today that since I bought a house two days prior to the accident I cannot be approved for a car loan at this point so prety boned there but after speaking with the police they stated I should seek a lawyer since the driver with the trailer should be liable for any damages and responsible for any incurred losses. Apparently He never hooked up the safety chains and was towing a large I beam for a overpass support that was over the load capacity of both the towing vehicle and trailer. Also that the trailer had flipped several minutes earlier and he had not contacted the authorities to have the scene closed in. The I beam support was not properly fastened on the trailer and when rounding the corner where it laid across the road it shifted causing the hitch that was not fastened securely come undone and the trailer to flip. Pretty much that guy did everything wrong and neglegent. I am waiting to see what is happening from my insurance company before I seek a lawyer. I would rather not go that route since everyone was okay and noone was hurt but I may have no other option. Good god that thing is fricken destroyed. glad you are okay from that also.

really? I have been driving one for the past week it has not been bad really I will say it drives much nicer than my cobalt. Then again solid mounts with no balance shafts and a full 3'' exhaust means alot less vibration and noise.

okay guys I am buying it back. I will make a update to this thread showing what all I am selling. Currently I am putting the engine and transmission in a sand rail with the turbo. so that means the supercharger setup may be for sale. That is currently pending already though.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think no-fault law takes precedence here, and you're on your own. Hopefully you had good insurance.

My 03 cavi was totalled by a drunk who hit and ran on me, even after we caught the guy, I could still only go after him for $500 mini-tort. No-fault blows period/

You can still sue him personally though for possibly wreckless endangerment, because wouldn't the guys insurance have to cover it under a liability claim? Im not a lawyer or anything i just thought that no-fault only works to a certain degree for instance if it truly is an accident as opposed to a dumb-ass behind the wheel who blows a red light while on a drunken stupor

yea if he wants he can sue the guy and will most likely win. it helps to have the police report too. because if the police put in there about the guy being negligent he pretty much screwed in court. when i had an accident i got a police report because the lady rear-ended me because her car stalled, she said differnt in court and i pulled out the police report and it changed everything.

yea I don;t wanna sue I got the car coming back and still get about 200$ so after a part out I might break close to even just alot of pain in my ass. Plus I am putting that engine and trans with the turbo I bought the day before in a sand rail. That should be pretty sick.

Please elaborate on the G6 comment...my wife had an 05 for 3.5 years...was a great car...she now has it's cousin...07 Aura XR with the 252hp 3.6L and 6-speed auto...same platform, even better car.

Do NOT buy a G6 GXP. They are heavy and slow and automatic. Fail on three counts.

I rented a G6 with a 6cyl auto for a week about 3 years ago. The engine felt underpowered and the suspension was so soft it was scary. However, the interior of the car was really nice. At the time it was the first GM vehicle I had driven since an '87 Firebird and I was pleasantly surprised with the interior layout, materials and quality.

If you wanna get into a midsize coupe, you're way better off with an Altima or Accord coupe. Manuals available, and way better vehicles all around than the G6.

There are a couple manual G6's out there, with the F40 6-spd mated to the 3.9 pushrod V6 that sucks gas like a ***** and makes only 240 bhp.

Thanks. Stay the **** away from Neons of any breed if your using 'em for road use. The Cop couldn't believe how smashed up the rear was. Neons have attrocious crash test ratings. If not for the the racing seats support and the stiffer frame I likely would have been screwed completely. If I got nailed like jsepulveda I probably would have gotten quite badly injured but BMW, like most german cars has far superior crash test ratings. Compacts in general are bad but some are worse than others (i.e. SRT-4) I'd still buy one for track use but the road.....never again.

Sounds like you have a pretty air tight case for court. Sue the bastard. Maybe we'll get lucky and some crazy final destination **** will happen to him. If you do sue I hope you win and if not so long as your happy with the outcome that's all that really matters.
