I don't know anything about GTIs, he was squealing tires at every shift but I was 3 car lengths ahead of it when the 4 lanes turned to 2 and he backed off. He lives around me as I see the car every once in a while -- maybe one day I'll get educated.
I've also been racing and building cars for more than 30 years. I have enough experience on the dragstrip to know what works and what doesn't....If you want I can "bend-your-ear" with stories of how I read something in a magazine then tried it on the street or strip and found that the writer had no clue about what he was writing about...lol!

what the hell is a hover rounds????? Im not being rude ( and really, no one has been rude to me) but you dont need back pressure. I think I know what your saying but back pressure is the wrong terminology. I believe D4? said it correctly, you need velocity, and the higher the velocity the better, unitil you get into overscavenging the intake charge. Back pressure impedes velocity.

I've seen the black VW again. He's debadged it. It is not a new VW -- doesn't have the "Hitler mustache" chrome front end. It looks like the GTI on redline TV - 2 doors and square rear body (station wagon look?). Has a big "fart can" on it. Not a fan of VWs -- what model could it be?

That sounds a bit high pitched compared to mine. Best sound is when driving it anyway. Revving it in idle isn't the same as driving it in gear. Much deeper then.

i don't know why people are so set on making exhaust videos in neutral, revving with the camera behind the car. it sounds completely different when you're driving. people should take them while driving, or a driveby at least.

It seems that just about all catbacks sound like complete ass on the ecotecs.
