CEL Question
CEL Question
I just installed my intake over three weeks ago. Everything has been fine until last night. The CEL light came on, then went away for a couple of hours today. Then it came back. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone on here before like my situation.
I was also wondering if a "tune" can just wipe away the engine light if it is the intake and is not causing any problems.
I also heard to disconnect the battery and let it reset and read the filter system.

I've heard of people over oiling the filter and having that mess with the MAF sensor which would throw a CEL.
I've also had CELs that would come on then I'd come back to my car a few hours later, turn the car on, and boom.. no CEL.
I don't know if it's like this where you live but at the Advanced Auto Parts store out here, they will read codes for you for free, then just take it home and adjust it accordingly.

Sorry for such a stupid question. Im just tired and a lil stressed.
Just make the power connector for your MAF sensor is connected (it could have came loose or something, who knows) and the filter isn't like over oiled or anything.
You could also take out your MAF sensor and check to see if it's dirty, and if it is.. buy some MAF sensor cleaner from your local auto parts store, just be really careful when handling that thing.
That's about all I can think of really.
In all honesty, I'd just have the thing read for free and take it from there.
And it cant be the over oiled my filter. Cuz I bought it from injen, and it came oiled already. or at least I think it did. Cant remember. But I didnt clean or re-oil it myself. I just cant believe it takes me three weeks to get my CEL.
I hope its the CAI and nothing more serious.
