Cleaning the rotors?

Mine are rusted and look ungly with my new rims. How can i clean them up?

the rust just happens when the rotors get wet.....if you go drive and use the brakes then the rust should wear off fairly qickly if not then you have a bigger issue...

Yea i had this problem when i got my new rims and painted my calipers i realized it! I just washed them when i washed my car and then drive the car, the rusty part will just dissapear!

I'm pretty sure there's a thread on this in the how to section but i'm not gonna search for you. it may not be for painting the rotors but would be for the calipers you could probally use the same steps to paint your rotors though.

if it was me i'd just take them off give them a wire brush treatment then throw some rustoleum primer and maybe some heaavy duty paint on the they should be good to go.

removing the rotors to paint them is a good idea but you want to use a high temp paint ( caliper paint ) not rustoleum paint, if you can't/don't remove the rotors you can always just mask off the area you don't want painted ( brake pad contact area ) and do it that way.

Black spray paint. Don't worry about it getting on the rotor surface. It will wear away the first time the brakes turn and will not affect pad longevity/action.

don't worry about it, you'll have to change the rotors soon enough anyways den get a set of powerslots and all will be good
