Clutch acting up
Clutch acting up
I had my clutch +TOB done 2 weeks ago by a shop because the TOB was noisy, I noticed right away that the clutch grabbed REALLY low sometimes. I chalked it up to being used to a different clutch as I drove my other car for the week it was in the shop. Fast forward to Sunday and after backing out of a driveway I couldn't get it back out of reverse! It feels like something is loose almost. Sometimes it grabs at the floor, sometimes it doesn't let go all the way, sometimes it's fine. I was able to drive it for about 10 minutes until the problem came back. It seems like I have all my fluid as well.
Any ideas? Part of me is thinking the master cylinder but I'm really confused how everything happens intermittently.
I'm going to try to take it back to the shop but it's about 100+miles away.

I managed to get it on a trailer and to the shop last week, they said they have been driving it all week and had no issues? It was acting up even when I took it off the trailer at the place so I have no idea how that's possible.
Air can work it's way out on it's own eventually as well
They didn't give me much information, just that they found fluid in the bell housing and changed the slave cylinder again but wow, world of difference right away. It must have been leaking when I first bought it too since pedal feel Is worlds better than it's ever been and it grabs way higher now. Hopefully it stays that way.
What kind if clutch did they install? If it was aftermarket then it may need a throwout bearing spacer or else you will just keep putting in throughout bearing/ slave cylinders every other week. Explains why the engagement point is so low if it's not air
