Cobalt or 240sx?

Hey guys! Been a member here for a LONG time. Owned 3 separate lsj cobalt SS's along the way and after all 3 were totaled by acts of god or other's ineptitude I decided to just move on and bought a jeep. (my goal with the last one was to twin charge)

Well, the bug has bitten me again to make a purchase but I'm not sold 100% what way to go. I love and always will love my LSJ's but, I also have a soft spot for the Nissan 240sx. IMO they are both sexy and have a decent amount of aftermarket support.

I know this is a Cobalt site but if you had to choose right now between a 240sx at a good price and in good condition or a Cobalt ss with no intention of needing it for a DD. What way would you go and why?

Thanks!

240sx. You've had 3 cobalt's time to switch it up.

Like I said lol. I wish I had the know-how to do the whole rear-wheel drive with the lsj trick. Sadly, I would be above my head there. And I have never completed my twin charge dream.. I'm afraid that itch will be there until I finally finish it.

I wont drive the car until it is 100% done either way. Before it was a DD so it was harder to see things through because i could not find time. This time it will be 100% project car.

I'll be honest the 240 is probably the better platform for power due to the drive wheels alone but then again the LSJ is a great motor but the car it's in is still wrong wheel drive.

240 for sure. Twincharge is a waste of time. Turbo the 240 and you will never look back.

I wouldn't buy a 240 for the sole fact that the owners are ***** 95% of the time and think they are bad asses cause they are drift stars! meanwhile their quarter panel is riveted on.

Wonder how that happened

If you can find a clean 240, which is hard to do- do that. Sr20-DET swap.

Depends on what you want the car for really though.

Lol this is true, but a clean 240 done properly is still better than a cobalt imo.

nobody2u - he said it would be a project. A clean un-molested 240 is so hard to find but worth the trouble.

Personally I wish I had a 240! My brother has two, an s13 and s14 running sr20det in each. Stay away from the KA24de sure its beefy but aftermarket parts are expensive and no factory turbo.

Really any mix of front and rear ends look good on an s chassis. Someone even put an s13 hatch front end on an s14. Id like an s13.5 or s14.5. But what i really love, are silvia coupes.

Ya I really like them all. I just prefer the S14 rear to the S15. Couple SR20s would pull a premium before race wars.
