According to my salesman:
"The order was preferenced by Chevrolet on the 27th. Its tentative
production date is the week of 3/19/07."

So i guess ul be makin my car around the 19th. Hope you do a good job

And some pics of the assembly line would be really cool.

So you want some '08 info on the cobalt tuners? Okay, how about coming out in april or may? Or it is going to have a turbo and wider (18by7.5) wheel. New gauges for boost and turbo info (digital). Engineers even had to change to a different valve stem to handle the 140+ mph top speed. New closer shifter also. I've been promised a look at the engine went we get one and a first look at the car when we build the pilots this fall. I'll keep cobaltss.net informed as I get it.

Are you meaning the '09 will be turbo'd?

I hope smokin' still comes on here. I love my cobalt! The only small things ive replaced is the transmission and clutch! Ive had for more than a year and I still have kleenex in my pocket whenever I open up the garage door to see it!! Thank you for building such a great car!

speed. There for the tire pressure monitoring system. All new cars are required to have the tpm system in them.Oh,and thanks for building my car.I guess you didnt build it on a monday or friday, cause ive had no problems with it for 1 year, lol.*knocks on wood*.

Oh good god if my mom and dad finds out about this they will be wanting me to ask you a million questions lol. They work for Lear or AIC i think that is what it is called now, they also make the door panels for all of the cobalts.

Cool, welcome to the site! I'm a proud owner of two balts myself! Can't wait to hear some more insider info! I knew they had to be making a turboed one esp with the hhr SS coming out!

BTW, must be nice to have access to an almost infinite amount of parts!

I did happen to have the electric power steering motor fail over this past week. Turns out that the recal GM did onthe malibu's for power steering electric motor is the same motor GM used in the 05 base cobalt modles. I know a few people that are having this same issue. The dealer fixed it under my 60k mile/60mo bumper to bumper warranty so i got it fixed no problem.

Thanks for the welcomes. We are building a few pilot turbo ss cobalts in late Nov. I was promised I would be one of the first to see the motor on the motor line and to check out the pilot car. Hope to start building turbo in Feb. '08. I'll see what I can arrange for members at the plant but can't promise. Thinking of getting the UAW local here to sponsor my car so I can get the high dollar upgrades. Hey I can dream, right?

You need to say that a bit louder because until now there has only been conjecture about the turbo Cobalt.
I hope you get the sponsorship.
When you go to work next, tell the guys about the crazy Canadian who is twin turboing, rear wheel driving, his '05 Cobalt to 750rwhp. I love my Cobalt.
To bad GM wouldn't help me along the way.

Thanks for being on the team that built both of my SS/SCs!!! Can you answer this question though......why do the front valances bulge on the right side below the headlight and have a gap below the left headlight? Also, the right headlight sits in the body more than the left, contributing to these factors. Both of my Balts are this way (2006 black and a 2007 sport red tintcoat).

Congrats to guys on being secured new product thru the UAW contract . Lordstown was lookin sketchy there for a minute . Im pretty interested to see how the Cobalt is gonna shake down on the Gamma chassis , and the Small RWD Alpha cars . Yall are gonna be busy

You should yell to whoever u can , that the LSD and new articulated SS seats better be standard fare on the Turbo car
