Cobalt Color?
It's only because they're more easily recognized, compared to a white or black car. Just because you have a red car, doesn't mean you're going to be pulled over more though.
But, personally I would go with the rally yellow. I wished my balt was yellow cause I think that's a sweet color for a balt. Maybe in a year or so I can trade mine in for a yellow one.

Red cars USED to cost more to insure because the pigment used to make red paint is more expensive then anyother pigment colour!
But now colour has no effect on insurance rates, Unless it some crazy custom paint job!
This has nothing to do with red cars costing more to insure!

Sometimes white is a good one. I'm not saying just because you own a red car means you'll be pulled over a lot...just simply saying it catches the eye more...for example (since no one seems to understand what I'm saying):: If 2 cars were speeding...a red car and a black car...each going the exact same speed, lets say of 60MPH, the cop will most likely go for the red car just because his eyes are automatically drawn to it. Now this isn't a 100% case scenario, just telling you what I've read, and also from a cop friend of mine. I do believe Hot Rod Cop has told me this also.
Black is beutiful
Orange is for women and those who lead "alternative" lifestyles.
I had a choice between the orange and black. I almost thought about the orange until my wife said the above statement (in not so many words). Now I am a frequent customer of the local carwash.

I have had more women comment on the color... but, then again, women do tend to rank color a little higher on the priority list..
